Description

Hooray, it's finally finished! I've been drawing this picture for nearly 3 days. I decided to draw Gordon, flying among the clouds - well, at least try to draw, because I don't really know how to draw clouds correctly and I'm suck at backgrounds, but I'm so proud of the result. Although I imagined it a bit differently I still like how it's turned out! Hope you like it too! ^_^
Created in PaintTool SAI.

Art fundamentals. Here's a little introduction onto what these are and why I am sharing them. If you want to skip to the nitty gritty information skip down to the first line of bold text that's where all the good stuff is.
I originally wrote The basics. a couple months back as a means to show people a way to progress in their art. Since it was rushed I never took the time to go back and spruce it up with more detail so I'll be doing that in this journal.

It's good practice to study these as a beginner and revisit them throughout your entire art career. Even professional artists revisit these and know these fundamental rules very well. (Most do at least).
These rules aren't the end all be all to art and they may n

Hey dude I'm enjoying the colors in this piece but the piece itself has quite a bit of errors in it due to a lack of knowledge on how to construct a 3D figure on a 2D space. What I mean by that is when I look at this I see the perspective on various parts, like the wings and tail out of place. The creature doesn't really convey the proper form of depth it looks like you were aiming for. Also the color palette could be a bit more limited so that the colors work together better.

All these things fall under a category called "Fundamentals" which I linked a journal to above. Fundamentals are super important to an artist and will serve you through your entire artistic endeavor. They teach you how to think and create the vision in your head more accurately. You can think of fundamentals as a tool set that will serve as a foundation for what you create. Please take a look over the journal and if you have any questions on it let me know and I'd be more than happy to answer and help out yo
